About Drifters
Established in 2009 Drifters has been a pivotal part of the 5 points area for years. From humble beginnings, Drifters has become the secret sanctuary for barbeque in East Nashville. Tucked away in an alley right next to the 5 points intersection, we've been serving families of the local community as a hidden gem; hosting live, local bands and artists on our outdoor patio stage, catering fun events and parties, serving awesome food and drink specials, and providing the best hickory-smoked Southern BBQ around. So, bring the kids, bring the dog even, and join us for some good ol' fashioned fun times at Drifters.
NASHVILLE STRONG origin
On March 3rd, 2020, a tornado ripped through Middle TN. My buildings and my businesses took a direct hit causing major damage to all three of our restaurants: Beyond the Edge Sports Bar, Drifters Tennessee BBQ Joint, and Boston Commons New England Seafood Pub.
This community is special. Immediately our neighbors and our neighborhood came out of their houses and came to our aid in the truest sense of the word "Community".
Two days after the tornado, I woke up in the middle of the night with a vision to paint "Nashville Strong" on the side of the Boston Commons building, facing the direction the tornado had come, as a message of thanks, hope, and strength to my Five Points, East Nashville, Nashville, and Middle Tennessee Communities.
By 6 am we were in contact with mural artist Jason Galaz and along with Milton Chaves and Mode Owner - 3 days later they had the mural done. To me, it was a wonderful sight and a message of hope and inspiration to see this beautiful painting rise up out of so much pain and destruction.
We love our community, and we want to give them a wonderful experience, great food, and a welcoming comfortable atmosphere. We hope you enjoy the new and improved Drifters Barbecue!
